PDF Document Problem

by Todd D. Degani · in Torque Game Engine · 05/23/2005 (4:59 pm) · 7 replies

I just picked up the lighting pack today and have a question on the pdf doc included with the download. When I open it up in Adobe Reader 7 (Formerly Acrobat) the entire document shows up as 1 page and basically can't be printed at that point.

I know there is an HTML version but just thought I would throw this out there in case it hasn't been noticed yet and I was hoping to print up a tidy little manual.

Hi Todd,

Ya, I've noticed that before - it's because the PDF is generated from the html doc (using the 'export to PDF' in the Open Office html editor). I print out the docs using the html version, which works great.

This kind of sucks, but exporting the docs to PDF was only done to provide a lesser used alternative to the html version, so I haven't spent a lot of time working out how to resolve the problem.

I bought the pack yesterday and found it odd also that the pdf is a single page. I am bored at work today so I decided to fix it :) I'm using the full version of acrobat. One small contribution to the community...

Hi Tom,

Awesome! Was it an easy change? When version 1.4 is nearing completion would you mind helping format those docs?

Thanks!

Too easy :) I took the HTML file into word and printed to pdf. No problem John, happy to help. Just send your source doc over to me: games at digitalblur dot com

John you could use cutePDF to do exactly that. I don't know if there would be a license issue though.

Awesome, I've never heard of cutePDF before, but sounds like it should work out ok:

Nice (I'll double check the full license)! :)
