Porting Torque to the PSP is a much easier thing to do.

I doubt Torque will be on the DS. If its anything like programming for the GBA, i really doubt it. Porting Torque to the PSP is a much easier thing to do.

N-gage qd has an opengl environment (not default.. but somebody made that)... so porting to that should be possible.. You'll have to create your own soundengine... and tweak it up real good.. but it would work

Edit: Specificity for Java/C/C++.

I believe the N-Gage development kit for non-licensed owners is Java-centric, while the C/C++ compiled kit is for license owners (you can use and test but not release). It has been a long, long time since I looked at it, but it seems that this is what I recall all those years ago when it was first hitting the dev-streets.Edit: Specificity for Java/C/C++.

Wait until DS Linux is final, i think then you could use TGE int he ds sicne it should have an openGL enviroment, and then the platform layer would also be made for you, so it would be a matter of rearanging the key bindings. it would be awesome if TGE~DS would exist, imagine the possibilities with the touch screen.... *drowl*.... lol,but yeah, i think psp or the gx2? The unfortunate thing about linux DS is that if you wanted to create a legitimate, licensed, DS port, you would have to completely port it to the official licensed SDK. If the point is to show your best friend your game playing on a DS, it's a viable option. If you want to actually get it on the DS, that's a completely different issue.

hi, like for me, game dev is a hobby, i dont plan on selling any of my games (i like to have them in the "never finished" state, where im like, it would be cool to have this, and then i would add it. so i am going to get the ds linux thing:)
btw, i was just wondering if you could confirm for me the ds linux really has open gl, like i read it , but i would like to get a second opinion on the tge on ds linux idea. (i do relize that im the one who brought it into the discussion)

I believe the test renderer is a stripped down GL renderer. I can't even remember if it was confirmed or wild speculation now. I can't even remember where I read about the renderer. It's been a while, though.

Yeah I to would like info on porting to the PSP. I wonder if you could just package the game on the SD card and run it from there.
