Linspire 5.0 - Black Screen

When I start Thinktanks on my Linux/Linspire box the screen goes black for a moment, then returns to my desktop without starting the game. No error screen.
Does Thinktank produce a log file anywhere that I could examine to determine the problem?

From the install directory if I run: ./thinktanks from the console the screen goes blank, then returns with this error:
The screen goes mcop warning: user defined signal handler found for SIG_PIPE, overriding

How do I get the sound working? Once again, does thinktanks log errors anywhere?
