Well, I am not working on any 2D game currently, but I just wanted to get advantage of the discount for TGE owners before it disappears!

I finallly scraped together the funds to pick up T2D, and not a moment too soon. T2D is rocking my world! I bought and downloaded it at around 0130hrs on wednesday morning, and as of 0300hrs this morning (Thursday), I've already got some movement/handling code sussed, and design doc'd (with rough code) major gameplay components. I haven't been this excited about game development in a very long time. :)Thanks bunches, Melv and Josh! :)

I would really like to se a somewhat more elaborate example to download, with real animations, tiled backgrounds etc but aside from the lack of documentation/examples this has been a pleasure.

Bought T2D to help my daughter making games (and teach her som C++). Liked what I saw and bough the TGE too (thereby helping GG with an extra $20). For an early adopters release it (T2D) seems commendably stable and after getting used to some of its peculiarities (all sprite libs I've encountered including the one I wrote myself) was heavily pixel orientated, T2D is not which is great but takes some getting used to.I would really like to se a somewhat more elaborate example to download, with real animations, tiled backgrounds etc but aside from the lack of documentation/examples this has been a pleasure.

if you haven't caught it yet here is a link to the Torque 2D Unofficial FAQ... it has some examples and many (at 48 now) questions answered... I try to update it at least weekly...
I know GG is working on a Lot of examples and I am working on a rather length tutorial right now which shows you step by step how to create the T2D Physics Demo... (from sprites, to collision, physics, storing game data, arrays, dynamic function calls, to even GUI controls and configuring funcitons to interact with the GUI and game)... Its getting pretty long, but want to describe each step in full detail, have over 20 example pictures so far lol...
So enjoy T2D, feel free to ask any questions, Melv is like a crazy man, he answers them quicker than I can usually catch them lol... hope you enjoy and can't wait to see what games you put out :)

I spent a few hours with it last night and all i can say is "daaamn". i was hoping i'd remember alittle C++ from my high school/college days, and i felt right at home with T2d. Thanks guys, I can finally make the game I've had in my head forever!

But now that I did I wish i'd done it sooner. Why? Because now I finally found out where Josh has been hiding from me for the last couple weeks

Wow and to think I was gonna write my own engine to do this stuff... $100 dollars spent and a years programming saved :) Looking forward to asking loads of annoying newbie questions. :)

Welcome guys. Now let's find some more new people so we can get Melv to retire and work on T2D full time!
Torque Owner Robert V Frazier
The yummy particle effects are an unexpected bonus.
I'll be happily playing with this for a long time. Can't wait for the full post-early-adopter version!
Congrats to the programmers for inventing this marvelous tool, and to all of us for choosing it.
