Mac & TST Pro

I've already submitted this bug to Dave, but since there's a forum now, maybe we should discuss it over here too.
My problem is that I get the registration dialog box right after installing TST Pro. No 30 day free trial period.
Is there any other mac user out there with the same problem or is it just me ?

- tablet is my primary tool. When I work in LW or PShop I always use tablet. Change to mouse during work is not comfortable.
In views I can use tablet well, but when I try use icons for views (rotation, fov, move etc.) work with tablet is unstable.
-CPU time
OK when aplication is in background CPU works fine.
- Crashing
I sent info to Josh
A few parts of the GUI are not so great
- Load DSQ - multiselection will be very usefull
- dropdowns - now I have to
1. LMB down on dropdown
2. LMB up
3. LMB down to position from list
Better:
1. LMB down on dropdown
2. move down mouse and LMB up

Yes, as Bruno has pointed out, a new Mac version of Torque ShowTool Pro will be released shortly to help those that were having trouble with the registration window.

So the tablet pen does work within the 3D view and the main issues are the buttons in the upper right to change the view? Perhaps what you could try is use the pen in the 3D view like normal, and use keyboard modifiers to get the other camera controls. ie: Hold down ALT under Windows or Command under OSX to get zooming; or hold down CTRL to translate the view. There's a list of keyboard modifiers on page 11 of the manual that may help you out.
Thanks for the GUI suggestions. Multiselection in the DSQ load window sounds like a great idea. I'll add it to my list. Thanks!
And I now understand what you're referring to with the dropdown menus. I'll also add that to my list and see what I can do to lessen the number of mouse clicks. Thanks!

A new build for the Mac is now up. Head on over here or to the Product page to download again.
This should fix the two issues with the unregistered version:
- Some Macs always showed the registration screen and didn't allow for the 30-day trial.
- The Texture Flush feature would cause a crash.
I'm sorry that these got through our testing of the trial (unregistered) version.
If you have a registered (purchased) version, you've not been affected by these. However, it won't hurt if you want to download and install again.
Enjoy!

My only complaint is that, as I look at models in TST, I see all kinds of little tweaks I want to make, like moving a camera node slightly. I know it's called the "Show Tool" so editing isn't part of its intended features... but still, I wish I could do more to the model in here.
Dave, have you considered integrating the code snippet that loads 3DSMax files directly into Torque?

I got TST Monday, and it's very nice. One Mac bug -- the "Quit" menu item doesn't actually quit. You have to click the window close button to actually quit the app. No big deal, just thought I'd mention it.My only complaint is that, as I look at models in TST, I see all kinds of little tweaks I want to make, like moving a camera node slightly. It's great to hear that you like the tool!
Adding editing capabilities to any intermediate tool always has its ups and downs. If you were to make a change directly to the DTS file, and then later needed to make a change from the original 3D application and re-export, then that intermediate change would be lost. However, tweaking that one little thing in the final file format can sometimes be much easier than working it out in the software that originally generated it.
I hadn't actually thought of adding the 3DS resource into TST Pro and am not sure what is involved. I'll certainly take a peek at it, but can't promise anything.
And thanks for passing along that quirk with the Mac Quit menu. Interestingly, Command-Q works on my Mac here, but actually selecting the Quit menu choice doesn't. I guess I had always used Command-Q! :o) I'll look into it.
Thanks!
