Animating Eye rotation...?

Is there a way to make the "eye" rotate, and affect the players view?
I have a character, and I link the eye node to his head. As he moves around, walks, jumps and so forth, the camera with transform up down, left and right, but it will not inherit rotation. The camera always looks straight ahead, regardless of where the Eye node is pointing.
So my question is, is there a way to get the players view to look in the same direction as the Eye node? For example, if I make a sequence of the character turning his Eye 60 degrees to the left, can I get the players view to also turn 60 degrees to the left?
thx
