ThinkTank Cheaters

Hello everyone. I've enjoyed playing thinktanks, but I have a question.
Do you think some players are cheaters? I mean, do you think some players have somehow found a way to give their tanks an unfair advantage over the rest of us?
For example, I noticed in a recent game that one player in particular was impossible to kill! There were several of us bombing away on the dude and he just sat there just smoking like a big dog, but NEVER lost his lid! Eventually all of us ran out of ammo and slinked away as this guy mocked us all.
How could this be? Did he find some special script or hack to do this?
I sure hope it isn't possible for anyone to cheat like this!
I know they do this type of thing on all over type of games.
Can we report this to the makers of the game if we witness such strange behavior?
I think we need to keep the game as fair as possible...and thus as fun as it can be.

His computer lost connection. Until he hits the escape button he'll just hang there. It's not cheating.

Thanks. I did not know that. Whew! Good to know.

I did witness someone last evening shooting an endless stream of big bombs that never seemed to end! His name was 3/4 something? I can't recall.
The moment you re-emerged you were killed instantly because he rigged it so that you always appeared in the same spot where he pumped a non-stop string of bombs!
It was frustrating, so we all quit.

It may not be cheating, but it's not right either.

That would be a mod... if you don't want that to happen, stick to the Shockwave and HomeLan servers. Some players can do just about anything they want to on their own servers.

Yes, these are probably people hosting their own servers and using special tanks they give themselves. This is the main reason we were resistant to mods in the first place. We didn't want the new player to experience this type of gameplay, we wanted them to experience ThinkTanks as it's meant to be played.

BTW, you can also play safely on the PlanetThinkTanks servers. Although some of those games are mods also, they have the unofficial stamp of approval from BraveTree. The "Capture the Flag" mod, in particular, is extremely popular. Hopefully everyone appreciates the effort z has put into that site and his mods. I know I do.

**Update**
Well, almost two years later and I've learned a lot about TT!
I did learn that there are indeed players who "cheat" by using special scripts that either give them faster shooting ability, more rounds of ammo or even just to create lag so that they are much harder to kill.
I was told that these scripts cannot work on public servers but they work fine on any other server that someone has up and running.

What really makes me mad is campers. in some games i tell the others that i dont want the ball. i am the camper exterminator.

someday i'll make a mod where anybody who remains in or within fifteen feet of a goal for over 5 seconds will be shot at by bots who are invincible and never stop shooting.

Cheaters claim to be our good behavior police. A cheater will lecture a player about some small infraction or use banning. I wonder Who elected the PBX to such a high moral ground?? Probably not a democracy!!

It is Interesting that these PBX "cheaters" often will limit play to one game................They will seldom venture outside of their comfort zone to try the different games. Mostly because the cheater cannot use special cheat codes to their unfair advantage in other games or mods. This PBX will give compliments to other younger players. Ewwwwwwwwwwww. Greasy behavior. Compliments like, "good shot, way to go, wow you show great talent" will fly around faster than speeding bullets.
