Thoughts on Reaction Engine

by Michael Cozzolino · in General Game Discussion · 02/10/2004 (9:04 am) · 2 replies

I was wondering what people think about the Engine. Sadly when it first came out I didn't really give it a thought. Now I have a couple of small game ideas and I downloaded the demo over the weekend. The engine seems really cool and I am interested in maybe getting it in the near future.

I know C and Java and I can stumble around in C++ (Torque) Should I have considerable trouble getting up to speed?

Thanks,
Coz

RE should not be to hard to come up to speed with, especially if you go through the 7 examples Chris provides. He takes you from the very basic "Hello World" example through to a full fledge space invaders clone.

Hi,

In my opinion, RE is easier to get to speed than TGE. So it is good to get some experience from RE and create a game or two before tackling TGE.
