The Chat/Text Bug

Ok, the text bug is really getting annoying...
The symptom:
You hit "u" to type a chat line. When you begin typing, all letters are in caps, despite the fact that caps lock is not on. Hitting enter only makes the chat box disappear, and does not send the chat line to the game. Subsequent attempts at chatting are usually useless. It's as if you had been gagged.
Would be nice if -z- could harness this capability for use at will on some of the more unsavory characters...
Anyway, the bug struck again tonight... really wanted to say hi to Hugo and ask Ween why he was playing (supposed to be in the lockup...?), but, no, all I could do is stay mute.
Anyone know what triggers the text bug, and, any ways to get out of it (other than leaving and re-entering the server)?

Yea I've experienced it before to. I his CTR AlT shift and it went away

I found that if you hold down shift+/ , it'll go to a chat box, but no one can see your text. Afterwords, I press the enter key and it works again. It seems to work on macs and pcs.sp

I have been aware of this problem for a long while, however, I have been unable to put my finger on exactly what triggers the problem and what doesnt.
There are 3 instances.
1) You cannot type anything inside the chat box at all : solution press CTRL with the chat box open.
2) You can type, but it shows in the chat box in caps, though the caps lock is off. Backspace doesnt work and Enter doesn't send the chat. : solution unprecise.. to do with pressing CTRL with the chat window off, and again with it open (or something)
3) Caps lock reversed but chat is sent ok. : Solution unprecise, but combinations of Shift Ctrl and Alt will reverse the caps.
Pressing Shift+Enter, or CTRL+Enter will cancel the chatbox without sending the message.
The whole thing is a bit wishy-washy and its hard to remedy without knowing exactly what causes it - i.e. so that the bug can be reproduced every time.

Have any ideas on why no words from you or other players appear when your game isn't in fullscreen?

No chat will appear if you have the Parental feature enabled though.
Does this apply to ALL messages? even the 'welcome to ThinkTanks you are on the BLUE team', 'Mal [Bot] has been eliminated by #1 Tankster

No, the welcome message appears, but all elimination messages are gone. In other words, all little white type is gone, all big, center screen type is still there.
