Which folder does blender use

When you're writing python scripts in Blender, what folder are you using (or what is the default directory that Blender opens up in).

If I recall ,
its in program files /blender foundation
theres a folder down in there for scripts .
The python folder is just in the root directory .
Im not a programmer though , not sure if thats what youre looking for .
