Local Game Design Camp

I was curious, if anyone has ever had any luck setting up a local game design camp?

There are somethings I need to do first, like see if there's even an interest in my area and figure out what I should try to teach.

Here's what I was thinking for the camp:

Once or twice a week for a few hours per session totaling no more than 48 hours during the summer. Teach game design theory, roles in the industry, basic 3d art, basic textures, level design, programming logic, simple scripting, and further education.

Free course? I was only leaning towards a small fee if I had to rent a place for the camp or pay utilities. Use free development software; Blender, T3D, and some type of image editor.

Rent or find a place to host the camp. I was thinking at least with a whiteboard and access to power outlets. If I prepare correctly I won't have to have internet access. I know I don't have access to a projector unless someone has one locally, maybe I can just hook a computer up to television?

High school students (with access to laptops). Is it possible to keep High school students wrangled during summer? I'm going to assume if they came, that they wanted to be there.

I don't have any teaching experience, but was hoping this may help decide if this something that I may want to do. The aim is to cover some of the basics and generate interest in game design. Also, to hopefully have fun!

Thanks.
