Single level needed... T3D

Hi all

I am an ideas guy. Ok, I got that off my chest. I downloaded the Engine and got as far as compiling the tutorial and having a play.

But I am out of my depth so need some help.

I have an idea for my wife's business and simply want a "level" in which I can place either an model or picture or video (exhibits) with some limited text next/above/spinning around it. You may like to add some interactivity such as break it to move on...

The "level" could be a reuse of something you may have done before and but would need a path through it. It could be countryside, a town or a building.

There would be no need to deviate from the path although being able to walk around each "exhibit" would be useful.

I am guessing about 20 exhibits, with about 10-20 steps between each one. It would be kind of cool to have slightly unique places - possibly easier and cheaper if an interior.

Anyhow, it could lead on to something interesting or she could simply not get it. Still I would like to try it out.

Can anyone help? If so what would the costs likely to be? What sort of time scales?

Trying to do it on a budget and prove a point, so it its cheaper and easier to change by just having pictures then so be it.

I have done a little level building years ago - think doom, half life and the like, and have modded and used mods so I know how to change assets etc.

Don't want this to be open ended either so would welcome any discussion first so that you were comfortable with what is needed.

Not done this before and possibly too much information here.

Let me know if there could be an interest.

did you look at the chinatown level included with the FPS Tutorial? It's a small urban setting and you can walk around in it to your heart's content even before trying any of the tutorial.

Hi Richard

yep I did.

But too gun and run orientated to prove a point to the Mrs.

Just read this in my research...

Looks perfect fit..

20 screens with the URLs adjustable to the exhibits needed...

Perhaps even in a simpler setting of an already pre built interior.

Perhaps it was not obvious but would intend to pay for the work needed!

Cheers

I made some terrains a while ago, the levels including the assets are free to use, so you can assemble new scenes with it.

Duion

thank you for that I did not think to have a look around for anything in the public domain that could fit.

It looks fantastic. Great work.

Even if it is in the public domain, if I end up using some of it I will make sure that I get some form of beer tokens over to you.

Cheers

It is not public domain, it is creative commons attribution license creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ the single difference is you need to give credit if you redistribute it, similar to Torque MIT license.

Thank you Duion.

Its highly unlikely anything will be distributed.
