Some good TGE-specific resources on the web?

Hello all,

So, in light of the announcement of Prairie Games's upcoming MMOKit 3, I've decided to go "old-school" and pick up TGE again. I'm still confident you can make some great looking stuff in it that will run well... and heck.. I bought the license, so why not?

Anyway! I'm having some serious memory lapses trying to remember exactly how things work (terrain is giving me some trouble, for example), so I decided to do some googling to see what I could find; I remember there being a nice collection of stuff available at one time.

That doesn't seem to be the case anymore, as most everything I'm finding is related to T3D, and TGE stuff seems very sparse.

I checked the TGN and it seems the info there is sparse as well, so I decided to come here and see if someone has some good sites or locations they can point a born-again newbie to?

I'm looking for resources on all things TGE. Terrain, Datablocks, Water, Weather.. everything. The more comprehensive, the better.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah that's where I tried to get it from. It's not available right now.

Instead of a download link, they have this statement:
"The Torque Exporter is currently not available. It will soon be re-released as open source. Stay tuned!"

With the status of TGE/TGEA as officially unsupported, it's possible they're not going to bother re-releasing it.

I posted to their forums, asking if they still intended to re-release it. Let's see what they say.

Sorry about that. Paul-Jan was getting the code ready for release.

Ah no worries. I went over there and it looks like it needs to be compiled in Delphi. From what someone said in a follow-up post, it seems like that might be an involved process.

@Steve

Nice! I've Googled for some TGE/TGEA tutorials numerous times, and somehow that page never came up in the results. Interesting.

The most common result for me are the Vimeo video tutorials that were posted some time back.

Thanks for the link!

I've just gone through my old TGE bookmarks and unfortunately almost all of the external (non-GG site) ones are dead. Shame there were some great rigging/animating character tutorials. :(

Life moves on ... (and people don't keep up payments for webspace that they no longer use)
