FPS Tutorial freezes

Hi,
I am new to this engine, so I decided to start with the FPS tutorial. However, in step 2.1 already, without changing anything, the game freezes.
The tutorial tells me to host a game, but when I click the start game button, very quickly the game freezes. That is, the screen goes gray and the "FPS Tutorial.exe has stopped working" dialog window pops up. This also happens when I start the world editor through the main menu entry. The various demos work fine, but the fps tutorial also fereezes when I copy levels from the demos into the levels directory and try to load these.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for not posting this, but I manage to fix it by redownloading everything. That also means I don't have the logs anymore.Afterwards I wondered why I hadn't tried that first...
