License for the default Soldier in T3D?

What is the license for the default soldier model/animations in T3D? Can it be used (and distributed along) in Free and Open Source games?

Anything in the github directory is under MIT license - which means that it is all FREE. Like FREE BEER (*I wish*) you can do with as you will. You can use it for your personal and commercial projects ... for FREE.

Free is not open. Open is not free. That's why we have the concept of "Libre" that Stallman loves to preach about: http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/open-source-misses-the-point.html

But, back to Torque: are 3D models and textures also under the MIT license? Are we free to modify and distribute them, under our own projects?

EVERYTHING in that repository is under the MIT license which is explained in more detail here. You're right, it's not free: you cannot infringe the trademark. Other than that, however it is free - you can call it Jabberwokey 3D Ultra Deluxe Plus and sell it as if it were your own engine if you like. You just can't infringe the trademark.

@Richard

That's not actually a bad idea... do you think we'll get more contributors if we do that? :)
