Another BeamNG Video using Torque 3D plus soft body physics

Quoted from their description: This is a work-in-progress alpha build. A lap around the Industrial circuit, some donuts, and then an accurate simulation of driving on terrible roads.

Edit: Just found a duplicate thread on this. However this one is with embedded video :) It would be awesome to get access to another physics engine that is made just for Torque 3D!

Gonna have to change those tyres after the doughnuts. ;)

Mmmm doughnuts... no must resist!

As I understand it, once they get the kinks worked out this will be available for purchase....since they are building in T3D, I would assume they will have a T3D version for sale as well.

Looks sweet.

Very nice. There is something inviting about your game so far -- I really want to drive around and I do not even like racing games.

However I have read that they are only using T3D for rendering... It suggested it was a heavily modified T3D. I hope it isn't too modified and will be a physics lib in the end that will fit in to T3D easily and without fuss.

It seems it would be a good idea for them to ensure this also.

heavily modified
ofc it is heavily modified but thats actually mainly the driving part
that includes the model structers and vehicle physics

the other stuff is stock t3d and i bet they will keep compatibility with t3d mit, as that is the source where the good things come (from).
However it`s hard to tell when the physics engine will be a purchaseable prodcut and especially hard to predict how much that would cost

with that being said
let`s just wait and see

i highly doubt that their engine is going to be affordable
for indies and even if you would need to create models the way their physics engine needs them to operate correctly

However, things can be done with less effort and ofc less beauty
but lets be honest
except the Racing Genre - what other genre would need those kind of physics?

in the meantime, the bullet3 progress is moving along
therefore we should look forward to get it into T3D Mit when it´s done

I believe it also depends a lot on computer hardware, if you have a lot computing power, you can have good graphics even on a not so good engine, it is just not as efficient.

So if you have good artwork and good level design and raise the graphics quality as much as possible, then you can get something that looks like these videos.
And in this case the physics and some extras may also add a lot to realism, things you do not have in default Torque.
