Anyone going to PAX-DEV or PAX 2013 ?

I am curious if anyone is planning on attending the PAX or PAX-DEV events in Seattle this year ?
http://dev.paxsite.com/

Haven't seen any "Torque" presence so far ... but all the other engines like to use it as a chance to advertise and such.

While I live near Seattle, I have yet to see the actual gamer side of the events ... PAX (Pacific Arcade Expo). But I did attend the first year, PAX-DEV 2012 and was lots of interesting speakers.

So making it a full 5 day event this year ... 2 days of game dev and 3 days of gaming!!

Would be great to bump into other Torque friendly people and such.

And if you are attending, but don't know the area -- I make a great guide! ;)

See y'all there!

Kind of bugged down with some work here in Northern Europe this summer as well as my own game project and a family who needs some attention to :o) I sure would like to see Seattle and the States.

Well I guess it will have to be some other time... Sigh...

Perhaps you would like to make a small blog with a few pic etc. about the event for us people bugged down with work? :o)

Would be great to see a Torque presence as its a GAME DEV conference/event.

But anyhow, I'll post a blog with details after wards -- to give an idea of what its like and possibly encourage some others to check it out.

They made a big deal about non-disclosure and such ... so I didn't bother with posting the details.

The seminars were very interesting, always 3-5 to choose from at a time. And they did vary in complexity from simple to advanced topics.

Last year, I noticed a bit more advertising from game companies with new products and even some of the "gaming" companies (aka gambling) had a presence.

And I bumped into at least 3-4 people who had hear of Torque 3D, even the author of the precursor to "MINECRAFT" ... known as Block land of course. blockland.us/

He had an interesting story to tell able how LEGO had considered having him work on a release for them, but stalled for a couple years and they eventually dropped the idea / project.

Believe he mentioned an effort to move it into steam for wider player exposure and possibly updating it to Torque3D at some point.

Anyhow ... PAX-DEV (Seattle) is happening again this fall (Aug 27-28) and just purchased my tickets. So will try to gather some interesting details to share afterwards.

And if anyone happens to be in town for the event, let me know :)
