3DS Max modeling

Howdy, been a while since I've been on here or tried my hand at this stuff again. Just started up again after a big move and finding that the scripting has stayed with me thus far for the most part. However, I no longer had any of my art as I've got a new computer and the art I had was saved on a flash drive that I lost. (The common story of my life.)
So now I have begun doing my artwork all from scratch. I'm hoping it stuck with me too, but my capabilities do seem rusty at the least. So my only question is how are people doing it these days with Max? I think I read somewhere that dts is a thing of the old? Are people still using the max2dts exporter? I wasn't sure myself so I tried to download it to use it as I used to, but it wouldn't work. Max wouldn't recognize it.

Welcome back! I remember you well! Yes, DTS is still alive and well. However, many of us have moved over to a Collada pipeline. As a quick refresher you can check out my basic tutorial here:

I recommend you download this exporter (max version): collada.org/mediawiki/index.php/OpenCOLLADA

Once done, I am sure you will see the similarities with the older system of getting a model into T3D.

Hope that helps, if you have further questions, please email me at kapaun01 AT gmail dot com.
