Any Torque 3D Projects that I could follow?

by Ozi · in Torque 3D Professional · 05/19/2013 (5:59 pm) · 20 replies

Just looking for currently active projects that I can follow. I've searched and scrambled and couldn't really find any other than Age of Decadence which is pretty much in Beta right now.

I just like seeing progress and the finishing product and seeing the difference between the end and the beginning.

Any that you guys have or know of? Thanks.

Check out Steve Acaster's blogs.

His game I find very exciting to watch as it developers and he blogs monthly? You can go right back to where he started and he also made tutorials which where a basis for his gameplay mechanics, turn based combat etc.

His newest:

I think slime city uses T3D, not completely sure. Try looking it up tho it looks like an awesome game.

Edit: here he seems to confirm they are using T3D.

I'm pretty sure Frozen Endzone from Mode 7 Games is using T3D.

@dB right that one is a great example too! And yes it is using T3D.

There is also MARK Online but I believe it's korean so I find it hard to follow their progress (although I believe it is still under development)

www.garagegames.com/community/blogs is where many people post updates of their current project progress. Obviously not everybody does, commercially successful devs need to build their own communities and thus post to their own sites (Age of Decadence, Dead State, Mode7 etc).

Steve, your game is beautiful. How long has it taken you to get to where you are now?

In 10 days time it will have been exactly 2 years of work, with about 6 months completely wasted implementing bad ideas, messing about improving my character modeling skills, twice changing the entire aesthetic, rewriting gameplay code three times to make it less of a mess to work with - including one full rewrite from scratch, general disasters, etc.

Your blog starts at 2008, so it is more like 5 years of experience in total.

@Duion, Steve's blogs don't start with the development of the current game.

@Steve, By the way what is the name of your game?

@Edward
Yes, but Ozi said "Steve, your game is beautiful. How long has it taken you to get to where you are now?"
So he asked how long in total.

That's from a great programmer we are currently working with on our project griffin endurance, it was a proof of concept to show that T3D can do games like resident evil (original series). We were looking to have a health HUD similar and he did the video to show it can be done.

Nightmare: Origins which is another game being developed in T3D. It's still in early stages.

Also Deo was just released another great looking game done in T3D
