Hi All !

I am writing this post to inform you of a game prototype that could be of some interest to this community.

A couple of friends and myself, all developers in the games industry, have been working on a game concept ; we are now at a point where we have a playable prototype and are trying to get some visibility and feedback on our creation.

The game is a tile-based dungeon crawler with modern game mechanics and was developed with Torque 1.7.2 (plus a fair amount of project-specific tools and technologies). You will find more information about the product, as well as a link to download the fully functional prototype (PC/Windows), on our website: hoc.notbydesign.net
We have also set up a Steam Greenlight page where the project is receiving encouraging feedback : steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=142505039
We expect this early version of the game to take from 2 to 4 hours to complete.

If you find our game concept interesting, we would really appreciate if you could provide us with some feedback, and contribute to increasing the awareness to help us find a public.
If you are in a position to write an article about The House of Correction and would like to do so, you will find additional useful resources in our press kit: notbydesign.net/files/8513/6806/3007/HoCPressKit.pdf

Thank you for your time and consideration. We hope you will enjoy our game and we remain at your disposal for any further information.

Cool stuff. I was always a fan of the Eye of the Beholder series.

We are starting to get some press coverage, with a few articles that have been published recently :

IndieRPGs
RPG France
Indie-Game

Hopefully more will come :D

EOB style for the win! I used to hack the level files to make my own levels.

Make it moddable if it isn't already.

Support for mods is definitely an option !

I had to create a separate level editor, as the structure of the scene in Torque (overlapping sprites) does not reflect the world the player is exploring (a dungeon).

The editor is a bit clunky at the moment, but with a bit of work it could be made into a releasable tool for players to create their own adventures :D
