Corrupted .dae collada animation files - blender

I want to ask if anyone found a solution for the corrupted collada animation files, I loaded the .dae files into different versions of blender, but they all are corrupted and you cannot work with them.
Are there others with different modeling programs where the import does work? Or are the source files of the animations still around somewhere, so a new export with a different format could be tried.

They are not corrupt. They were made using a different modeling program. I was able to import the robot from sector T3D because the animations were in the same file as the model. I could not do it with the soldier. I am not sure how to combine them.

Yes and I ask if someone can import/export them so they work in blender or offer a fix, or find another way how to make use of the default models with animations.
I think the default models and animations are supposed to be an example to use, study, work with and build upon, but this seems not to be possible at the moment.
