Anyone using GhostTown free version?

I stumbled upon this script. But when I import it into T3D it crashes instantly...

Looks sweet! OK, so I just tried it and I got this...

3ds Max 2010

T3D MIT 2.0
i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd48/stacalkas/CityMax_zps61ad3f38.png(I forget to assign some textures)

I made a plane bigger than the "min area" and hit the build button. Then exported as a .dae

There is soemthing similar for Blender

cgchan.com/suicidator/

and here is a video of the latest Version of the Suicidator City generator

I am going to have to look at Suicidator again. $15 is a darn good deal. He is also working on exporting to Unity so he should be open to work with getting it to directly export to T3D. This could save a LOT of time for city levels, and model generation.

I was going to play with these last night but got caught up playing games again....

Both are good finds. The Max script has some absolutely crazy options for "high-poly" buildings.

What's bugging me a little is that they don't seem to show examples of cities built on hilly terrain - they're all built on a flat plane. No city on Earth is built on a flat plane....

I thought the same thing but since the buildings are generated from the planes I was thinking of morphing some and see what happens with a curved mesh

Sweet, Britt! Thanks for that test - basically, create arbitrary "ground" geometry and Ghost Town should handle it.

I'll try to remember to test out the Blender script tonight.

The same could be accomplished in Blender
just use a Shrinkwrap modifier

note: didnt tried it but it should work
