Hello, everyone!
Torque3D newb here. I recently found out T3D was released under the MIT license.
I was wondering if GarageGames have heard of Google Summer of Code, and, if yes, is GG planning to participate?
You might attract some additional interest and get a couple of people working full-time for 3 months on parts of the engine you want.
PS: here's a summary of what gsoc is. Here's the 2013 timeline.

I can't hop onto the irc channel (uni blocks ports).
Is there a direct way to ask members of the committee?
I am not aware of what are the communication channels around here.

Since the application deadline for mentoring organizations is 29th of March, and the committee huddles to make decisions only once in a while (minimum monthly, I suppose?), they may become aware of gsoc a bit too late :)I can't hop onto the irc channel (uni blocks ports).

we might have to make soem noise to get their attention(just keep that thread alive is enough) but i do believe that the Steering Commitee is aware or at least they will be soon.

This indeed would open up some bridges especially when looking at other OpenSrc Programs that got boosted just cuz of GSOCwe might have to make soem noise to get their attention(just keep that thread alive is enough) but i do believe that the Steering Commitee is aware or at least they will be soon.

Meeting notes of things we discuss or are working on are listed here on the forum:
T3D Steering Committee Meeting Notes - 2012
T3D Steering Committee Meeting Notes - 2013
These threads would be logical places to introduce new topics, as well as the various update blogs that get posted. If a Committee member has their email address listed in their profile, then you may be able to contact them directly that way.

Michael, any comments on participating or not in this year's GSOC?

Since Mr. Hall replied, I guess the committee is aware of this opportunity :) Michael, any comments on participating or not in this year's GSOC?

My question would be who would mentor it? GarageGames? The Committee? We already have our hands full. Selected volunteers from the community?

I can bring it up at the next meeting... but I do believe that it was mentioned at one point, I just don't remember if there was a followup on it. My question would be who would mentor it? GarageGames? The Committee? We already have our hands full. Selected volunteers from the community?
