Forum Upgrade? (Maybe GROU.PS?)

Is anybody else itching for a modernized forum/blog/wiki on GG? I don't mean to be too bold, but it seems like a reasonable forum topic, even though this is the companies domain.
As an initiative I took 30 minutes this morning to look through social network tools. This is kind of in hope that maybe GG would also be interested in "outsourcing" the upkeep of the developer site.
No, I am not affiliated with GG and I don't know what the current forum/wiki runs on. But, in my opinion, GG's forums and wiki show their age. It would be nice, for instance, to allow me to upload an image to my blog post (without resorting to external image links). And it would be nice if the mailer sent links that were clickable. Standardized wiki language would be nice, too. Oh, and a place to share files? A painless forum search engine? Not having to log in twice a day to see documentation (where the log in process forgets which page you were loading. :P)
So I did a bit of looking for *private* social networks. Now, the term "social network," for me, brings up images of Facebook and endless streams of passing one-line comments. However, a proper social network has blogs and forums and wikis (oh my).
So, as a first idea, I found GRO.UPS. While I have no experience with it, it appears well recommended and has all the tools I mentioned here. It even has a chat feature (I never got into IRC). It also appears to have a virtually unlimited plan for $25/month. Not bad.
Just a thought. Please comment below on what you think, anyone. I just did a bit of research so I wouldn't be complaining without an alternative solution in mind.

We've had multiple discussions about this here. The short of it is yes, we want to update the site, yes we have ideas on how we'll go about it, no we don't have timeframe for it. It's not a trivial thing as so much of our business is tied into the site. Some of the changes have been started though, like the updated store.
