by Adam Schneider · in Torque 3D Beginner · 02/05/2013 (4:54 pm) · 3 replies

I have been scouring the internet looking for a download. I cannot find one on this site or github. I am a newbie here so I am sure there is a extremely simple solution that I am missing. any and all help is appreciated. I know there is a MIT open source version but alas I can not find it. Please and thanks for all help.

The complete experience
If you want the 'complete' experience, you should learn how to work with github : the help section of the github site explains it pretty well

https://github.com/GarageGames/Torque3D

Also check out this really awesome explanation, it tells you everything you need to know about git operation in an amazingly simply manner :

The easy way

If you are just starting out, I suggest just grabbing the zip file of the latest official build at the following address :

http://mit.garagegames.com/Torque3D-2.0.zip

You will also need the Project Manager :

The rest really depends on your skill level with the various tools. Scout the forums, ask questions and have fun!

I would hate to be a newbie right now. Open source is a whole different animal that many of us geeks take for granted.

Anyway, Simon gave you everything you need to get started.

Btw, you will need to run the Project Manager to create individual projects that will be placed in your My Projects folder. You wont have any to start with.

If you plan to recompile the source you will need to install the DirectX June10 SDK. I searched the Microsoft downloads for it.

Good luck!

I get the complete experience when I play Little Wing on my Fender Telecaster. ;P
