FPS 2.0 tutorial explodes with polygons

by Tim Heron · in Torque 3D Beginner · 01/25/2013 (4:03 am) · 9 replies

When starting the FPS demo in the game it starts with a nice view of China town but then explodes with random polygons. Looking at the ground only, things work ok but looking anywhere else has the random polygons. I copied the Torque 3d folder to another computer and the tutorial works well so it is something to do with my computer.

My computer is a HP Pavilion dv6 3006tx Laptop (64bit 4GB RAM Windows 7) with an ATI Radeon 5650M graphics card.

Any help would be appreciated.

What Steve said, that's all video drivers and DX runtimes there.

I've updated the directx runtimes and updated the graphics drivers, still no joy.

It looks as though the sky box is wonky.

Ive had this type of effect before (not in T3D) many years ago.. I "think" it turned out to be bad video ram.

Sigh...not very encouraging but could be true. The heatsink was plugged up with rubbish for a while, cleaned now but could have caused damage. Strange that it only affects T3D though.
