Titanic's sister Olympic ship for TGE

This is a ship that I've been working on since May 2010. Many people of GarageGames may know that Titanic had actually two sisters. The older Olympic from 1911, and Britannic from 1914. Olympic was the only ship from the Olympic Class that survived till 1935. She was then seen in British Movietone News with Mauretania to step up and preserve this ships, but it failed. In October 1935 the Olympic sailed under her own steam to the ship breakers. In 1937, the empty hull was moved to Scotland to finish the job. In the same year, ex-White Star Line owner Bruce Ismay died.

Re-making Olympic was not only a big job, it was also a dream for many people. So far I know, no one has ever made a ship in Torque Constructor. During the development of the ship in Torque Constructor, I had so many problems that delayed the ship's completion. I'm planning to release Olympic. I can also export it as a TGEA file for the people who want it in TGEA.

For people who are more interested in the ship's story, here is a video I've made about her. For people who want to see her how she looks like in TGE, this video was once recorded in Blockland before the removal of interiors and terrains. And it was also made on Olympic 100th maiden voyage anniversary. See here the video of Olympic in Blockland.

Anyone who wants this to be released, please comment and I'll put up the download link. Thank you.

@Dennis, I would love to get this model and use it in a game. Are you licensing it for game use? I am creating a multi-theme game and this would be cool to add as another theme option.

This is awesome! Big ships are awesome!

Edit:
I just noticed there are two ships there. Are you going to be making a big ship pack?! That would be awesome! This would be a very good reason to resurrect the dynamic mount resource for sceneobjects and have these babies move around a map.

Can you go inside?

I've seen ships made out of DIFs before... but be aware that if there is interest in this that the obsolete Interior format is finally being gutted from T3D.

@Frank

You can't get into them. I once made a ship interior three years ago, but I've lost the file. A SetPlayerTransform was also needed to get you in the ship's interior.

The other gigantic ship is Artanic III. She is not really yet fixed, and has some glitches on the stern. The Olympic is finished and is split into three pieces that can be placed together.

Once I am back home with new year, I will release the entire Laurentic Star Line ships I've made over the past three years.

What does this mean? DIFs are going away? What about portals? Can the DIFs be converted to another format?

@Frank: DIFs have partially been deprecated in T3D (inferior lighting and rendering for example) for years now. The export to collada option within the editor was added just so people could export/convert their old TGE/TGEa era Interiors. Portals and zones are set up with the Zone and Portal objects -- surely you are aware of these? I also kind of doubt that the old zoning and portaling for Interiors was even still functioning...

We announced a couple months ago that we were finally going to finish removing InteriorObjects from the source and reclaim a much needed bitmask -- it's on the todo list for the next version. Given the extent of time that this knowledge has been around, as well as the age of the export to collada option it's well past time for folks to have moved on and have no further need for a dead and obsolete object format.

@Michael,
Ahhh, okay, I was away from anything GG for upwards of 3 years. When I came back GG was rebuilding and T3D was $100. So I snagged a license and have been relearning Torque ever since. My last experience with Torque was TGE. So, as you can tell, I haven't a clue as to what happened. Thanks for the explanation. It just tells me I have to relearn how to build interiors. Haha!

Olympic will be released later today, I'm still busy with a lot of other projects. Stay tuned. Be aware that the model are actually three interior files that can be put together. This was done to avoid face glitches on the model it self.
