So. Where do you people get your music?

So I noticed that people's mobile games seem to use all sorts of midi music. So far I've been finding mainly MP3 resources. Such as those at http://www.shockwave-sound.com/. While MP3's have high quality, the problem with this is the big file size.

Where do you guys find affordable game music short of hiring a composer? Midi music especially?

Any help appreciated.

Often get music and sound effects from here www.soundrangers.com

Have also used a great composer/musician for my game, Joel Steudler www.joelsteudler.com/ - ask him for a quote

I make most of mind. Tip: If you're using garageband, don't use the presets. It's cliche and unrewarding. Everyone will figure you out. Mess around with the settings of the instruments. I often make my best tracks with mistakes. :P

I convert my .mp3 files to .ogg in VLC to reduce the file size.

If you are interested in game level music I would suggest Andrew Riley. He is a very talented composer. Visit his site and ask your questions luckylionstudios.com/

Everytime I listen to Luck Lion music I get goosebumps about how good it is. I was thinking about making my own music, but I think I am just going to get his stuff. Very good prices!
