since i cant find Ron Kapaun's email , i thought i would post here and wait for a responce.
I placed all of the assets in the proper folders in my project, and with all the tree's being dae collada files there should be no problem with the textures.
As with some trees i have to open the shape editor and check the emissive box or the tree will show up as black when looking thru the tree at the terrain, on the terrain part the tree is fine, setting the emissive checked fix's that problem.
the problem i am having with the conifir art pack is that the texures dont show up at all on the trees.
the bush's and other items are fine. with the tree's being collada format the texture should show up.
So what im doing is opening the tree in the shape editor. clicking the texture and editing it. i add it to the tree and click save texture. once i get all of the textures on the tree it looks great. instead of adding alot of trees i save my game and also save as, to make sure it saves right.
When i restart the engine the textures are gone from the tree's again. for some reason i cannot get them to stay on the tree. If i had the textures i could place them in main tree folder and they would appear regaurdless. i have had to do this with astes combo pack to make it work with afx2.0 for t3d2.0.
Any sugestions on how to get the texures to stick to the tree would be helpfull.
i have a main folder named tree's and inside that folder i leave the trees in there own folders, pine, oak, dead, and so on.I tried taking all the trees and placing them in one folder called trees. that didnt work ethier so i went back to keeping them in there respected folder.

Edit: I got them all working now but one, for anyone else that has a problem, it appears in the green spruce folder it uses the shortpine001.dae
all the textures working on it but the bark and the dead limbs.
If i figure that one out i will edit how i fixed it so if anyone else has that problem they can fix it to.

Sorry about the delayed reply, sounds like you maybe missing the materials file for each tree. This was an issue with this first pack because, well honestly it was my first pack and I did not handle the instructions or the packaging very well.
Short fix would be to use the files from the demo since they have the materials file and everything already compiled. Add them to your art/shapes/trees folder, delete your DSO files using the DeleteDSOs batch file, start the editor and your textures should all be in place.
There is an update coming shortly for this and the Tropical pack that will address this issue. Sorry for any problems.

The main folder for each tree has a fbx source file folder with the textures in it. none of the material.cs or the cs files link the tree to those texures. not sure how the dae file links to them in the fbx folder.
I just went into every fbx folder and copied the textures to another folder then copied and paisted in my root folder. that fixed them all but the tree in the green spruce folder, i cant fix it to save my life. most of the texures are showing up on it. the bark and dead limbs wont. i think its because alot of the tress share the same texture. i will track that down one day, thats a nice tree with all the textures.
I added them in the shape editor but after i saved game and restarted the texure was still gone, i did save the texure i added in the shape editor.
Looking forward to making some more art pack purchases in the future.
Need more model packs with fantasy buildings and villages, not the way out there fantasy kind lol.
Heres a short video of what im working on now, lotsa open land that needs trees left to be filled in. Forgive me for not having the 200 lights in astes castle yet.going to do that now lol.

Not a bad start at all. Very nice in fact. You best get to adding the 200 lights to that castle ;-)
