mounting objects in blender, and env map question..

Hey is there any way to mount objects in blender so I can get a preview of how a mounted object looks before I export it to torque? (In this case I would like to mount my glock 17 model to my character's hands while animating in blender so I know how it looks, without having to re-export 8 million times and go back and forth between blender and torque)

My second question is how to get environment maps to work, I got specular maps working easily enough with the material editor in torque but have not been able to figure out environment maps. The env map slot under advanced texture maps doesnt seem to work, and under the "advanced (all layers)" section the cubemap reflection setting applies an environment map to the entire object, not just a part of it. (in this case I'm trying to apply an environment map to the lenses of a pair of sunglasses). If someone could explain in idiot terms how to get this to work it would be greatly appreciated.

Figured out environment mapping. the env map slot under advanced texture maps does nothing, save an alpha channel in your diffuse map png. (need the older SuperPNG plugin in photoshop) then simply select the appropriate reflection cubemap under the advanced properties in the material editor in torque.
