Lightwave 3D and Lightwave DTS exporter Wish List

First some heavily opinionated comment to argue a point:

The most common Tutorials for Torque seem to be using Blender and 3DsMax and much of the new Documentation that comes with T3D doesn't mention the other popular modeling programs.

Blender is great for use as a Modeling package for Torque, but I really don't like the UI so I avoid it like the plague.
3DSMax is also great for use with Torque but the cost for new folks that wish to make Art for games will either use an illegal copy or perhaps an educational version.

I prefer to use Lightwave 3D because the UI feels logical and natural to me and the price is maybe 1/4 that of 3DSMax.

One of the downsides, to me, is the Lightwave DTS exporter is no longer being updated and will not work in version 9.6 or higher.
So my wish is really that some programmer will pick up the code for the DTS exporter and update it to work with 9.6 +.
Show the Lightwave 3D users some love too. eh?

I know they have different Blender UI's like one that makes it look like 3ds Max. So I'm assuming there are others?

Some Torque users still prefer to use the DTS exporters, but I would move to exporting to collada. If my facts are right, Lightwave 9.5+ supports Collada export.

I still manage to work around it. GG has been kind to supply a dae2dts converter. I was just using it before this post actually.

I keep reading about how great the DTS exporter was for Lightwave 7 (??), and really just wish it was updated for LW 10.
I emailed Dave on the topic and I can certainly understand why there has been no updates.:)
Just wanted to put this out there incase there was any chance of a bored programmer that was perhaps looking to work with Dave to get a new version release. (smile)
