You expect everyone to hold your hand with every question, when its already right in front of you. And then you insult everyone while you're at it...

This isn't a good path for you. Should try being more respectful to people here and we'll be helpful in return. At this rate you're just going to wear out your welcome fast.

Count me in as 40+ ...

Doesn't seem to 'automagically' make me smart. Unfortunately... :-)

@Jacob, That's pretty much the point I was getting at... but being less.... aggressive to state that directly.

Age had no difference on how intelligent you are at developing games or writing code. The only thing I have learned that dictates that is knowledge and experience.

I gained over 8 years of knowledge by writing and developing numerous mods for Tribes 2 (started at 13 years of age, mind you), and then spending $1000 to which I worked for in a job at my college, to buy this engine (only because I knew so much about it and wanted to apply my knowledge to an even higher level).

Since buying the engine those two years ago, I have gained a ton of programming experience in C++ and TorqueScript by creating numerous systems and projects (many of which I have released as open source resources). I spent over 6 months writing my authentication package in C++, and I was asking for help both on the forums and on IRC many times for it. Never once did I come off in an arrogant fashion or demanding that certain individuals help me due to their "god like status". I only asked for help from anyone who had information that could potentially help me, and I got all that I needed through it. You can now get a very secure authentication system in your game thanks to the efforts the community helped me complete.

The point boils down to once again to what I stated in my previous post. Age of the individual has ABSOLUTELY NO INTERFACE to who can or cannot develop games, it only comes down to people who have bright ideas, and want to take the time to program those ideas into wonderful worlds of imagination. Oh yes, I also chuckled at the maturity comment you made too, it makes you sound like a troll who's trying to make me mad or something because I'm younger than you. You actually gave me a good 15 minutes of laughter before I wrote this reply. :)

I DO understand that you're looking for people who have the skill set to help you, but don't throw people away just because they aren't "old enough", kind of silly seeing that there are millions of bright students across the country who are gladly picking up C++, and since Torque 3D is now open sourced, I'd expect to see many more of them in this community in the near future, and trust me, we have a ton of wonderful ideas for making our own games too, it's just putting together the knowledge of the entire community to make the full magic of development occur. I hope you take something positive out of this reply, and if you tear it apart and rant away at it again, I will gladly post another mega page post just to get the clear point across, "I am not affected by trolls" ;p

Have a nice Day!

Which weapon changing script? There are two methods.

There is the old way of using keybinds for quick-change-to-specific-weapon method which anyone who has used Torque for more than hour knows how to modify.

Then there is the weapon cycling code. I'm less than 40 and I'm the one who added that to Torque 3D for everyone else to use.

I can't let this farce of a thread continue any longer. Thread locked.

@abhinav
If you're serious and want to learn how to use the engine then by all means read the docs, ask questions and keep in mind that in the world of game development, even programming in general, age != experience. You will run into cases many times where the person who is more knowledgeable than you on a subject is younger than you are.
