T3D Mega Terrain and Charaters falling through at certain places

Dear Torque Developers,
I have recently played around with the L3DT software and did create some rather big worlds(2048x2048) where the horiz scale to 10(some 419.xxx square kilometers ). I can get a pretty decent load time where sight is set to 1000, but....
Why is my character falling through the ground like he went into some trap out of nowhere??? I have searched the forum up and down and all I could find was this: http://www.garagegames.com/community/forums/viewthread/91003
But that fix has already been implemented on the source codes so I am a little blank here...
Any suggestions?
Best,
Dwarf King

Edit: Oh and thanks for your suggestion :o)

I shall try that. It seem to me that the bigger the terrain the bigger a chance their is for a character to fall through. Also it is not every where the avatar will fall through some times it is only in certain area after running around for some time. Edit: Oh and thanks for your suggestion :o)

Works for some terrains but not all. Also sometimes the character will still fall into the terrain and stay there(hence he is stuck). Hmmm... Indeed load in zones would be better :o)

The size of the terrain shouldn't matter. I have a 2048px heightmap set to 8 meters per pixel and I'm having no trouble at all.
Do you have any negative coordinates in your terrain's position at all? If so, try setting it to 0 0 0 or above.

It's possible you're encountering the issue with newly smoothed terrain. I've had that happen, but saving the mission, exiting, deleting .DSOs and restarting fixes that. The size of the terrain shouldn't matter. I have a 2048px heightmap set to 8 meters per pixel and I'm having no trouble at all.

Hmmmm....
Perhaps it is because of the 10 meters per pixel. I shall try your set up and report back.

Hi again. Yes I did have negative coordinates for the terrain. I changed it to 0 0 0 and most of the time the character will not fall through but still sink into the ground from time to other. Also up in the big snow mountains a lot of spots will let the character fall through... So still having problems. It does not seems like Torque 3D likes big terrain at all. Hmmmm....

Seem to me that loading in zones will be the road to go. I originally thought about making a huge zone and then place the level in the middle or something in order to create the sense of greatness and a huge world....
Do anyone here knows a great source on how to load big worlds in small chunks at the time(source code minded)??

Well final verdict. Better but still encounter issues where my character fall through the ground some times(more rare now then). Seem to me that loading in zones will be the road to go.
