Great pack Adam... bought it recently, but not managed to use it yet - are there any plans to create a take off or landing sequence?

There is an update in the works that will include landing and taking off, as well as a few other things that might be handy to some people.

Awesome! These features should make things fairly complete especially if flying jets from an aircraft carrier or landing strip that is not a terrain, but a TSStatic, or ShapeBase object.

Hi, im wanting to create a flight sim as such, but not fixed on "combat" flight sim, infact if anything quite the opposite. I would like to do a glider style flight sim.

Im just wondering how difficult it would be (even if possible) to modify the given settings to get the flight model to fly in a glider style form?

Thanks
Andy

Hello Andy. MACSK is pretty driven around aircraft that have a propulsion source so a glider type aircraft might be a bit tricky to make it feel right.

MACSK doesn't include anything that would simulate thermals or other more glider specific flight characteristics, but there could be some simple ways that you could add things like that in.

If you've got any specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

Hi Adam,

Its been awhile since I used Torque and I am wondering where the solution files are for the MACSK project. Are there any directions for creating this?

Thanks

Shawn, I've replied to your email.

For anyone else with the same question in the future, you need to use the Toolbox/Project manager to generate a new project using the Full template and add the source changes/files included in the pack by either overwriting the files or using a program like WinMerge to insert the changes.

Thanks Adam,

I received your email and appreciated the response. It would be nice to see this continue with new features updates etc., in relation to the MIT release. I would support it. And thanks GG for the MIT version.

Best wishes.

Shawn

Adam,

How are you editing the mission files? The camera will only move left or right after entering editor mode (F11), no up down or pan.

Thanks

That is due to the new mouse input for controlling the aircraft. When you enter the level editor, open the console and type deactivateMouseInput(); and that will give you mouse control back.

Are there plans to port/ update MACSK to T3D v3 MIT?

There are plans for getting an update out for MACSK that will be based on T3D 3.0. The goal is to add landing/takeoff support and possibly VTOL (vertical takeoff/landing). I dont have a time frame on the update but a blog will be posted when more progress has been made.

Adam, any news on an update, maybe even for 3.5?

As of this moment I don't have any plans to release any further updates for MACSK. This is mostly due to the product now coming onto being 3 years old and sales have pretty much halted. I will continue to support the product as long as Ignition Games is still running and I don't see that changing any time soon either.

I'm hoping to release this info again in a future blog with a new vehicle-related product announcement sometime pretty soon.

Adam I believe if you added more aircraft and also new features it would generate more interest and thus more sales. guess my thoughts. :)

@Andy S. I got this working in v3.5. Can't remember how difficult it was ... but I now have almost a full replacement for the old FGE using MACSK.

Did I miss the party? Howdy all! I just purchased this yesterday to get started with T3d. Actually, the MACSK IS the reason I went with this engine. How do i get this working with the latest build, step by step as I could not find any documentation. I am a new user to both this software and game dev. I do have the latest version of t3d working and I am messing around with it, but I would like to get started on my air combat sim.

Please help!
