Hopefully this is something that can be considered in the road map or someone can use this to roll it into their own project.

I have in mind a plug-in system for Torque, and a plug-in that handles Spriter information would be a very solid test (once I get it working with something simple). It'll be a minute, for sure, but when I get there I'll drop a line and see if I can hash out some details with you.
