Lets make an RPG

Hi there!
Im trying to start up a community of people to create an RPG.
Im looking for people for the following:
*Sprite creation/alteration
*Sprite animation
*Fellow Torque 2d users
This would be based on a popular franchise.
This RPG could be really awesome, if i can get the right people.
Please note that there is no initial pay involved, however, once (or if) it gets finished, it will be shown to the franchise owner to see what the future could hold for it.
If youre interested, please get a hold of me!

I think saying that it is part of an existing franchise that you are not authorized to use scares developers off since the vast majority of projects like this end in a cease and desist order, especially if the franchise is still alive or they see value in releasing it on new platforms or classic game storefronts like GoG.

My plan was to create this game and once it was finished, present it to its owners and see what they think.
If they didnt like it, then so be it, no harm no foul. At least it was made and i can play it whenever i want.
Ultimately, i think it would simply be a lot of fun. Nothing more. Nothing less.

You make very valid points, David, and this is a fan-based project with no intent on making money on this franchise. My plan was to create this game and once it was finished, present it to its owners and see what they think.

Personally, I'm all for fan projects and wish you well with it. I've played a lot of great fan games over the years.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter if you intend to make money or not if the company (and their lawyers) see it as diluting their IP, which is why a lot of these projects get cease and desist orders.Personally, I'm all for fan projects and wish you well with it. However, if it gets out and they wanna shut it down, then so be it. I completely understand.
Like you said, though, fan-based projects/games usually are SUPER fun!

Very true, David, and this is one reason why i wanted to remain "tight-lipped" on the franchise, with the exception to the people helping out with the project. However, if it gets out and they wanna shut it down, then so be it. I completely understand.

I'm new to torque but I'd love to help out. Besides, I'm wanting to make a turnbased RPG so this would be great practice!
