People should pay for the software and art that they use!!!!!

I use Torque3D and Unity Engines and have several middle-ware licenses for both. I was just contacted on my Unity Indox by a Jerk that wants to swap assets and software, He is using bootleg version of Unity Pro. I am saving up for my Unity Pro License and I am very proud of my T3D License. The guy pretends like he thinks your work is good and wants to team up with you on a game. Then he slowly starts to ask you to email him assets and things and brags about all of his theft, claims he is gonna buy it all before he publish his game. I guess i am so appalled because I saw him getting support from those software developers.
Sorry I just had to vent. I don't that crap is right or fair to the people that make the middle-ware, engines, and art work.
Yes I'm weird person that has two game projects a T3D one and a Unity one. I like both. Where one is orange the other is an apple. No reason to compare(-: Where one is is easy the other is hard and vice versa and ia ll depend on the users skill set(-:

You're doing it right. You're using the free version while you save for Pro. You also can choose the people that you work with. You also will probably not be able to change the people you choose not to work with. I agree with you. I don't think it's fair either.

I don't share the assets even though some are like brother Dan mentioned, as low as $15, because if somebody won;t even invest $15 in themselves what does that say about the investment and loyalty they would have to you as a team member or partner? These are same people that won't even hit the paypal donate button on forum threads for the artist and developers that they tricking. These are the same folks that turn there nose up at Daz3d tools and Blender because they are free. I guess it takes the fun out of it if they didn't ripp it off. Detroit had a Mayor like this and it didn't turn out to well in the end all rippping folks off landed him in jail. haha
The guy that triggered this response from me seems to have nothing more than a background picture for his game done. That is because instead of enjoying these tools and learning he spends all his time filling up the hard drive like a squirrel collecting nuts that he never gets around to even eating before the spoil.
I have so enjoyed learning Game Dev with Torque, Unity, and all the Art pipeline tools I own. These things were a worthwhile investment.
Looks like I am about to buy Zbrush today. I got 3D Coat and enjoyed sculpting and retopo so much I decided to dive a little deeper in the sculpting side and use 3D Coat for retopo mainly.
I share my progress along the way(-:

Thanks for the kind works and responses. The asset prices can't stay fair and the engines can't improve if everybody just ripps the stuff off. There are so many options available to use good tools and legally acquire good assets while saving or waiting for the bigger ticket items. There are certain software collectors that do nothing but steal software. They have GigaBytes of stuff they NEVER use. The guy sounds like he wanted to add your assets to his collection. It is similar to people who collect animals so much it trashes their home. Like a "cat lady". It is strange, but I think there is something coocoo in the head on some of these people. Kind of sad really. Quote:because if somebody won't even invest $15 in themselvesVery well put!

@Frank - LOL that is exactly how they are. They hinder themselves, hurt the software developers, and keep hard drive manufactures in business.

Totally support your position and point of view Robert! Personally, I think its an appalling attitude for people to take and can only do harm to people taking the time to produce assets for the 'community'.

I just purchased my Zbrush License today. I have been saving and waiting for my understanding and learning to get to the point where it would do me some good. Only other things on my shopping list now is Unity Pro and DOTNET Torque when it is ready. oh and Guild wars 2(-:
I am looking forward to playing around with it tonight.
@Winter leaf (Tim) - congrats on how DotNet Torque is coming along. I look forward to purchasing it from you when it is ready.

On the original not: That crook got off of my Skype when he realized, cuz I told him, I did not share his outlook on robbing you fellow programmers and artist. I was tempted to say something on the forums where he is fronting like he is legit but it would not be worth it. I'm doing my part though by participating in this fun Game Industry community by paying for what I use and not stealing and hording what I don't(-:
Well time to get back to my day job in boring Automotive Engineering world(-: Lunch break is over. I live across the street. LOL

I am really enjoying Zbrush. It has made a nice addition to 3D coat which I already had the lower end license for. I have a couple virtual jars. I been putting a few dollars aside for Zbrush for a while. I thought the Interface would overwhelmed me but the Support on the Zbrush site is great, They seem to have a video lesson for everything. On the original not: That crook got off of my Skype when he realized, cuz I told him, I did not share his outlook on robbing you fellow programmers and artist. With regard to sharing assets, I really don't like doing that even with people who do have a Torque licence. Just because the art may be a small content pack does not diminish its value to the artist who created it. I mean, there is no fundamental difference between a $1,500 licence and a $15 art pack. Some people seem to think the price indicates its importance.
