Move Character and many other questions! HELP PLEASE!

Hey guys, quick newbie question.
Ok, so I want to set the character in one place and let him move on the x axis when I move my iphone left and right.
How do I do that?
Also
If the character touches something, then he collides and the gamer loses control over the player, and the player goes off the screen and dies.
Also
How do I make the camera move and gradually get faster.
Also
How do I make things appear every between so and so (pixels) aand so and so time?
THIS could help so much if someone could help me with this and possible include some code to go along with this. Thanks!!!!
