You will need Visual C++ Express if you wish to make any source changes. After you install 1.2, you will need to manually merge your script changes over. Shouldn't be that big of a problem as long as you don't just copy/paste them into 1.2.

How much script changes have you done on your game? If none or barely any changes, then just start fresh with a new project on 1.2.

If you have substantial changes, then you will need to use a program such as WinMerge (winmerge.org/) to get the changes from your older project to your new one.

brian,
what do u mean by update?
i think your meaning of update is causing the confusion.

first let us know, how much scripting work u have done in your t3d 1.1 based project?

Also to go with Ahsan's post, did you uninstall 1.1?

nvm i deleted update and re-downloaded with clean system it fixed the torque 1.2 i thought it was just a attachment to torque 1.1 because it was not working by its self now that i have a clean and roomy hard drive i see its a whole thing on its own. XD

Thanks for your patience.
