Demo download size

EDIT: Should mention I'm referring to the individual demos you download from the T3D product page, not the big demo download licensees have access to.
This isn't site feedback per se, but I thought I'd mention it here. The T3D demos are massive! I just downloaded the Burg demo to test out some code in Burg... 300MB download, and 500MB installed? The reason, of course, is because that demo includes all the art for all the other demos as well. Is that really necessary? I managed to prune the size of the installed directory down to 100MB (the Burg itself takes 61MB), and that was just rough cuts.
Am I alone in thinking this is a problem? From my POV, I wouldn't have had to wait 10 minutes to get my hands on the level, and I imagine that a 70MB download is a lot friendlier for a single-level engine demo than 300, for anyone who cares to have a look at the engine's capabilities.

No you're not alone. I have been curious about that too. It's even more annoying still if someone (like myself) has a monthly data usage. Downloading an addition 200MB of unnecessary content is a tad bothersome.

My theory is that so many people (employees, contractors, associates) have worked so much on the various demos and projects that no one person at Garagegames has an idea of just what a specific demo example should actually include... so package it and get it out there!

that is an old problem.
there were so many comment for t3d 1.2's too big download size.
members with slow net connection or having no knowledge about download manger always face different problems.i think many of them did not try twice.
but gg never cared about that.
why not gg add all those demo together and make one file?
or
can make a small package only with empty room where people can add other demo as a mode.it will save some space.
