So yesterday I got hit by something I have no idea what it was I just over heard the music on my PC give a ear bleeding screech. Then my PC reboots to a BSOD...I first freak out because the drive has no boot record on my wifes machine so after several steps I save my RPG Engine. I have to reinstall everything from the ground up. I open my project in torsion it says corrupted... So I diff my code to a backup in may. I looks like over 50% of the files got scrambled with garbage. Can someone please shoot me? I feel so down right now. I was so close to being finished and now I'm reset so bad.

Ahsan thanks but I got the data but the virus scrambled random segments. I'm putting together a repository pc right now with random parts.

Online repositories are good for this! I use XP-Dev all the time. Github and Google code are good to if you can open-source your stuff (I have lots of personal projects on Github, it's great for working with friends... and showing off!).

I keep a backup on an external drive. I am thinking about getting a second external drive so that I can swap between them. That way if something goes bad and destroys the internal and a currently connected external, then I just go back to the other external drive that is not currently connected.
Edit:
I normally keep the external drive I have now disconnected. I only connect it for backups.

Like Frank, I use an external TB drive and only connect it when backing up (quite often I might say). Also keep it in a vault, so only a heavy fire can ruin that now (knocking on the table...)
