Lighting changes when I make a backup of a level

by William McDonald · in Torque 3D Beginner · 05/02/2012 (11:28 pm) · 5 replies

When I save a game level like this:

Then open the newly saved version it comes out like this:

What can I do to fix this? What is going wrong?

First question I'd ask is are you using PostFX ? If so, did you save the settings ?

Hmmm, I recognize that for some reason ;-) The short answer William is 'yes' the original scene uses post effects and it should be stored at

game/levels/Empty Terrain.postfxpreset.

Also, double check because I did ALOT of tweeking on the lighting in this set you may or may not have the gamma adjusted the same.

Ahh... All I did was open the demo level and make a backup via save level as and then opened the backup. So I'm guessing that doesn't save all the lighting settings?

BTW Ron I just wanted to say that this kit is awesome and you did a fantastic job. I'm very use to Torque X 2D and adjusting to working with the Torque 3D builder has been a challenge (even with the tutorials) so I'm sorry if I'm asking stupid/obvious noob questions. Thank you everyone whose helping me and thank you Ron for making a fantastic art kit.

@william... yes I noticed that the lighting is not transferred when saving a backup (trust me cuz I learned the hard way to back-up all the time). Also, thank you so much, I really wanted everyone to get something positive out of purchasing my pack. I am here because of all of you. I will strive to never forget that.
