Hello everybody,
Hopefully everybody is doing great! I have used Torque back in my college days 2007, and now that I am in my career and making pretty good money, but after work I am bored (EVE, WOW are starting to get boring) So, I want to create something with Torque, and I was wondering if any of you can give me some pointers on what to buy from Garage Games that will help me create a game. It doesn't matter if FPS or strategies I just want to see what the latests and the most popular application I can use at my disposal. Any and all information is greatly appreciated. Thank you

T2D (TGB), and iTorque are popular for the 2D enthusiasts.
If you're not artistically inclined, or don't have access to a good artist, then any appealing and appropriate art pack could be considered.

You can think of Torque 3D as an advanced version of the venerable old TGE you were familiar with, just better in almost every way. Now it's even easier to get models into your game -- not really a fan of collada even though it streamlines the process for artists. The Mission Editor tools are improved -- and there are new ones. Replicators are superseded with more performant, and advanced, Groundcover and Forest tools. Scripting is still the same. Particles have a new trick or two. Materials can be animated more easily, just not as extensively as IFLs were capable. Vehicles are pretty much the same, still rigid physics based. Outside physics engines, such as Phsyx and Bullet can be more easily used. Linux platforms aren't officially supported, but some wrenching on your end will let you port there... Mac support is lagging and not as feature rich graphically. The GUI Editor is improved, but still the same GUI system. They say the documentation is much improved, but I've never actually read it since most things are intuitive and easily found/understood by reading the code.T2D (TGB), and iTorque are popular for the 2D enthusiasts.

I am not sure about what is the most popular right now, I do know that game development for phones is taking off for many of the game engine companies. I am currently using Torque 3D which is great for making 3D worlds, but still difficult in learning how to implement many of its coded features, especially if you are using free 3d modelers like Blender, and have little free time. The results when you do get something working is top notch though.
I would check out the store and look at the add on packs and see if something resonates with what are wanting to do and go from there.
