PVRTC compressed images created in PVRTexTool v.3.31 or higher does not load.

PVRTC compressed images created in PVRTexTool 3.23 or earlier does still work. But when using the latest PVRTexTool the images doesn't work in iTorque any more. I am using the same compression settings. There is a slight image quality improvement in the new PVRTexTool version, so using that version would be preferable, and there is also the option of using PVRTCII 2bpp and PVRTCII 4 bpp, which does not exist in earlier PVRTexTool versions. PVRTCII compression doesn't work in iTorque 1.5 either.
I am guessing that some source code change is needed to get it working again, but it's outside of my knowledge to fix.
Does anyone have any idea about what might be wrong or how it can be fixed?

Apple only uses up to the SGX543 hardware, which is significantly older (Q1 / Q2 2011 hardware) and naturally does not support hardware features introduced in April 2012 ;) (PVRTC is a hardware feature just to mention)
The easiest way to get correct, supported PVRTC is to use the version of PVRTexTool that apple provides with the iOS SDK instead of the one from imagination tech as the later is of no use unless you are a hardware manufacturer or OS developer controlling the driver completely
