Real-time Diffuse Global Illumination in T3D

I was looking into methods of enhancing the lighting in T3D. I like the lighting but I was just looking for other methods and I came across this www.crytek.com/cryengine/presentations/real-time-diffuse-global-illumination-in-.... It had me wondering if this method is possible in T3D without breaking the current lighting system in it? If this method is not possible in T3D then can something similar be achieved?

You would need to do some major engine modifications for it, just like they did with CryEngine 3, to implement it. But the presentation and any whitepapers should get you moving in the right direction. It is not a lighthearted change, however.
