I'm currently shopping around for a package like Torque 3D. I have looked at Leadwerks2 and C4 so far. In my opinion Leadwerks editor is great but the documentation for programming, etc. is very poor. C4 seems like it is documented pretty well but I think the editor is horrible. For you guys/gals that have tried them and used Torque 3D in you opinion is it kinda a combination of them. I have downloaded the demo and the editor seems pretty darn good. I really like the river editor wish Leadwerks had that. Is the documentation up to date for Torque and is it decent in peoples opinion? I took about a year of C and about a year of Java in college so im not completely blind I just want to mess around and learn a little game programming.

I have been playing around with the demo im really liking it so far. The tutorials so far seem really good. Only problem im having now is I have some models I bought from Arteria and Pure 3D that I can import no problem but when I texture them they look weird ... seems like there are portions of it that are invisible. Im wondering if I import the models in UU3D with say the fbx format and save them as dae if they would look better. This is the final thing if I can get the models, etc i bought to work properly I will buy Torque.

DX Studio is another one to try. No better than Torque but it is free, and it uses Java script. www.dxstudio.com

Sounds like the models have 2 separate textures resulting in invisible faces in the engine. The only way I am able to get a mesh to export with two separate meshes at the same time, so far, is for the mesh to be two separate objects with their own textures, so maybe someone else has a solution to this; also this is only a theory from not seeing the models.

I'm also interested in purchasing. Does the $179 price tag also include access to the source code? I am a liitle confused by that.
