I don't remember since I haven't used it in a while. Is there a Save As... where you can change the file type? Have you asked on the Daz3D forums how the best way to get Hexagon data into the Collada format?

yes only in hexagon and it only formats it in to the following formats: Carrara, Amapi developer, Wavefront OBJ, Second life sculptie, 3D studio, STL, DWG, DXF

What you need to figure out next is how to get it from an .obj or .3ds to COLLADA.

Blender imports .3ds fine. I buy models in .3ds specifically and I've had only 1 issue with it. All I had to do was flip the normals and that issue was fixed. Exporting has a trick to it though. You need to save it as a .blend before exporting the .dae for some reason. I guess internally it's a two step operation.

I know this is an old thread but I'm gonna necro post. The new Daz Studio 4.5 and export to collada. I haven't tested it with Torque though.
