Here's an update for the Torque 3D 1.2 Education Materials. As we know, the first release was a hit. For those of you who haven't seen it, here is the info.

Torque 3D 1.2 Educational Materials Version 2 is almost done! We've taken feedback from our education associates and consumer testing with teachers/students and added a professional writer, Janet Fisher from the original Torque 1.2 documention team, to update all the materials and include the promised Teacher's Guide.

We took some extra time to test and tweak the documents so the release date is now end of February.

Also, please welcome our two latest Education Associates. Here are a few words on their background.

Wayne Sikes:
My name is Wayne Sikes. I'm the Department Chairman and a Professor of Game Programming at the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, AZ (www.uat.edu). I used Torque2D a couple years ago for a personal project and just recently upgraded to T3D 1.2 (for more personal projects).

Michael Geig
I am currently an "Instructor of Simulation and Game Design and Development" at Stark State College. Besides teaching, I work on many game related projects on the side. Some of these projects are creating and maintaining the Game Development website Fixbyproximity.com, as well as being a developer for Totem Arts where we are currently finishing up Renegade-X (renegade-x.com).

As a reminder, our Associates program gives us the inside track on feedback on future projects. I find research with actual users always valuable in defining products and making them better.

I'll update everybody when we are approved out of QA for release.

Awesome stuff. It would be nice to see interviews with associates in the future.

Yes, we like to get to know our associates and customers better. I'll talk to David about the next newsletter.

Update: Torque 3D 1.2 Education Materials Version 2 is headed to QA next week. We are planning a Thursday, Feb. 23 release. I'll write a blog to announce the release!
