[BUG] Documentation: TGB Reference missing after installing Platformer Kit

by Pedro Vicente · in Torque Game Builder · 12/06/2011 (10:47 pm) · 10 replies

I installed the Platformer Kit on top of an existing TGB 1.7.5;

now the menu item "TGB Reference" is missing.

this is the file /documentation/Official Documentation.html

I confirmed this by re-installing TGB: the main doc page has a link to "TGB Reference", the tree link bar on the the left

After "installing" the Kit (unzip file PlatformerKitDocumentation.zip on TGB root) the link structure is different (new items, but "TGB Reference" is gone )

Pedro - I am going to do an install of the Platformer Kit and see if I can duplicate this issue and let you know what I find. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Pedro - what we have confirmed so far is that when you install the Platformer Kit and the new documents are created in the same folder a new Table of Contents file is created that does not include the TGB Reference link. The files still exist you just have to manually navigate to them. (And of course you can access them online). We are working on a fix for this to have a Table of Contents that includes the Platformer Kit link and documents without eliminating the TGB Reference link.

@Geoff

Thanks for the quick reply. Apparently not many Kit users out there that need to check the TGB reference :)

As it turns out the PSK documentation has a bad copy of the toc.html file which provides the left panel. I believe that if you replace that file with a corrected copy it should fix your issue. Please email me at richardr@garagegames.com and I will send you the corrected table of contents.

If this fails, we'll have to figure out a way to get the entire 20MB zip....

Thanks for the quick fix.

@Richard

There's a slight issue with the fixed table of contents you sent me; when opening a PSK item the TGB Reference index is all expanded.

There is another issue: the Platform Ninja tutorial link is broken (1.7.5)

Quote:
Firefox can't find the file at /G:/torque2d/documentation/content/documentation/Tutorials/Ninja Platformer/Tutorial.html.

Pedro,

That link should be fixed now - please let me know if you still have any issues.
