Buying Torque 3D licenses questions

by Jeroen Langhorst · in General Discussion · 11/29/2011 (6:00 am) · 7 replies

I have been looking around for Torque licenses for my school, at which I am a student. I found several pages where I found prices for licenses. But I am confused. I don't know which price belongs to which type of licensing. I have found an educational license for Torque 3D (in which I am interested) and the webpage said that it costs 1000 Dollars per year. But I also found another page that said Torque 3D costs only 179 Dollars.

One of my questions is: how much product keys does one get with each of the two types of licenses? And what are the consequences of publishing your projects?
I will be needing around 50 product keys, each of them for a different computer.

Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure that most of these things are discussed behind closed doors. But as far as i know the educational stuff includes a lot more than just the engine, which in all likelihood prohibits commercial publishing.

You arent likely to get any real answers here, you will have to make some kind of official contact with Eric or David.

The educational license is for educators and school programs. If you want your own license, it is just $179. If you want your instructor to start teaching Torque, he'll need to contact sales@garagegames.com

And what can you tell me of the number of product keys and on how many computers I can provide with Torque 3D?
By the way, thanks for your answers. I didn't know that Torque had such a lively community!

It's just one. Though you can install it on two workstations so long as you access only one at a time. You can check out the eula:www.garagegames.com/company/licensing

Educational licenses are site licenses that cover licenses for an entire site or location. It can range from just a single lab to an entire school. For more info it's best to contact licensing@garagegames.com. Please keep in mind that our sales guy is at conference right now, so there might be a bit of a delay in response, but he will get back to you and he can answer your questions about the educational license better than we can here in the forums.
